The farm is located in Southeast Michigan, on fabulous loamy soil that, when you cut into it, looks very much like delicious chocolate cake. We’re zone 5, which means we get real winters, mitigated by the warming effect of the Great Lakes thank you very much. My great-great-great-grandparents were deeded this land by President Andrew Jackson, whose government swindled it from the Potawatomi Indians. I am fortunate to live here on the farm with my family and my extended family. We love this place almost beyond reason, and feel the same way about each other. Usually.
